The book on Optimal Control by Dr. Valiollah Ghaffari, a member of the Intelligent Control and Monitoring Research and Technology Group, has been published.

Dr. Ghaffari says about the publication of this work: “For many years, designing controllers with optimal characteristics has always been of interest to researchers and engineers. Although today there are various references and resources available for the analysis and design of optimal control systems, I decided to write this book after studying existing references and having several years of experience in teaching and researching topics related to optimal control. Therefore, efforts have been made to analytically formulate and solve optimal control problems in discrete-time and continuous-time representations. Additionally, the design and implementation of controllers in dynamic systems have been approached with a practical perspective. Some of the topics covered in the book are results from my recent research papers in the field of optimal control. Efforts have been made to introduce well-known optimal control problems and focus on them. Since all necessary topics for optimal control are covered, this book can serve as a textbook for graduate-level control courses. The layout and content of the book are designed in such a way that there is no need to study another reference, and it is suitable for most researchers, especially graduate students interested in classical control topics. Besides the simplicity, clarity, and smoothness of the text, efforts have been made to examine control problems in more detail and present the final design results in an understandable algorithmic format. Therefore, examples of optimal control are solved with several different methods, and practical exercises are provided at the end of each chapter. Given the capabilities of MATLAB software, efforts have been made to introduce useful and important MATLAB commands and use them in applications. To encourage readers, final exercises are provided at the end of each chapter.”
